A little Christmas note from Jill and a look at what was predicted in 2022

Updated: Dec 9, 2023

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of my customers for your support. Thank you for choosing me and I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year! 🎄

I hope 2022 has been a good year for you all. We have certainly had to navigate a lot of change and overcome many hurdles that the Covid 19 pandemic has thrown at us for the last 3 years. I hope the path you walked wasn't too bumpy and you can look back at 2022 with a smile.

I am lucky, 2022 was a good year for me and my family and I'm very thankful for that 😊

As we are reflecting on the past and taking a walk down memory lane, I remember when I was a teenager my brothers and I used to look forwards to listening to the top 100 on the radio on Christmas day. It used to start at 6pm - and it was a big deal!

I was thinking about this the other day and I realised that we very rarely have to wait for anything nowadays. I can listen to whatever I want whenever I want, and I have so many choices of TV shows and movies - and I can watch them on any of my devices. But, my favourite thing is to get lost down a YouTube rabbit hole. I start with one of my favourite bands but more often than not I end up discovering a whole list of bands I've never heard of before and several hours have passed me by - I love it!

I would like to share with you an article I think you may find interesting. Here are CNET's top 5 predictions for 2022. This article was written by Jason Hiner on Jan 4 2022.

Ways the world will change in 2022 - the year ahead.

The article begins:

Even before the momentous events of 2020 and 2021 shook up the planet, the tectonic plates of culture, society and technology were already shifting and reshaping the world. The pandemic took those changes and accelerated them, exacerbated them, and in some cases, threw them into chaos.

As we speed into 2022, one question remains: Where are we headed next?

I think Jason Hiner hit the nail firmly on the head with these predictions about our changing health services and how we have taken responsibility for our health, the work from home ethos and the realisation by hundreds during lock down that they actually didn't really like their jobs so they left to pursue alternative employment. Many of them deciding to go out on their own and start their own businesses. He talks about the impact on the economy and inflation, the technological advances that have definitely accelerated during the pandemic - they had to, and the further development of electric vehicles. The world realised that it isn't as difficult as we imagined to cut down on our emissions. The lock down saw a significant fall in emissions and the space station reported never seeing the air so clear around out planet.

Predictions for 2023?

I have no idea what 2023 has in store for the world but I am an optimist and hope that reason and commonsense will prevail. For me, I hope 2023 will see me continuing to do what I've been doing for the last 5 years in my business. I love working with all the amazing people I've been lucky enough to meet and work with through my business and I hope it will continue well past 2023. There's so much to look forwards to in 2023 for me personally, and I am looking forwards to reading those articles predicting the world's year ahead in January 2023!

Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year! 🎄🎁☃️
